Last Sunday we loaded Nola in the car and drove down to Lincoln for a birthday party.
Nola's friend William turned 2! It was a Finding Nemo theme, complete with lots of fun water activities. It took some time for Nola to work up the nerve to get involved but eventually she was playing.... kinda.
She will play next to kids, but not with them. That's totally normal for her age. She spent the first 30 minutes attached to her dad because she was scared of the dog. When the birthday boy started opening presents the other kids were more interested in him and left Nola all by herself. That's when she got excited about all of the toys. She started with the slide, then some basketball and then just collected all of the balls and put them in the water table.

Then it was time for CUPCAKES!! I really didn't want her to get crazy messy so I licked the frosting off of one and gave it to her. She went straight to her Dad to get the good stuff. And Robert gave it to her. He smashed a cupcake in her face. So much for staying clean.
