4 months

4 months!  I can't believe it!  He has his check-up later this week so I'm not sure of his stats, but he's getting big!  Update: he weights 17 lbs, 10.5 oz and is 25.75 inches tall.  90 percentile in everything!

He continues to be a very calm, carefree baby.  Nola still loves to see/talk to him and he smiles A LOT when she is around.

He started giggling this month.  Nola can make him giggle the most.  It caught us off guard one night.   He was smiling and then suddenly he let out a giggle.  We all froze then spent the next 20 minutes trying to make him do it again.

As I was typing about his "milestones" I asked Robert if he's rolled over yet- our daycare provider said he rolled front to back one day, but I'm not going to count it until I see it myself.  So now Turk is laying face down on the floor.  Nothing yet.

He's so smiley!

And the biggest change from last month is that he's sleeping through the night!  He did once about a month ago, but has been pretty consistent in the last week.  Hallelujah!

Still no progress on the roll.  I'll keep you updated :)

Birthday Parties!

We've been celebrating a few birthdays around here!  Our friends' kid turned 2 and had a party at a trampoline park.  Nola went to one once with my parents but I had never been.  It was so much fun, and I didn't even jump! Nola had fun too.  It was really funny to watch a bunch of 2-4 year olds jumping around.  They weren't really playing together, just sort of jumping and giggling.  Nola was also having a few issues with her pants, so that was funny too :)

The birthday crew!

We also celebrated one of my friends birthdays!  My parents came up and stayed with the kids, so Rob and I got to go out and sleep uninterrupted at a hotel!

The Art Department/the birthday girl!

Insteading of jumping on trampolines we ate, laughed, and face swapped.  Face swapping cracks me up.  A friend and I were doing it and it switched off in the last second.  We ended up with this fantastic photo.

Still makes me laugh!

A few weeks later we celebrated another birthday at the Children's Museum.  Nola LOVES it there and had a blast.

I had a little fun too making my kids part of the museum.

Don't worry, I didn't leave them there.

Happy Birthday to our friends!

Variety Show!

The fifth annual Staff vs Students Variety Show was last weekend and once again I had a blast! We had more teachers involved this year than last, so that's always a plus!  The theme was America and we had a couple of live acts and I made a Face Swap video of our staff.

We won last year with a lip sync, so we did it again with Disney songs. I decided that Nola was old enough to sit with Robert in the audience, so I was going to keep Turk backstage. When we started talking about doing a Disney number it became pretty obvious that Turk was going to make his theatrical debut! We each "sang" a different Disney song dressed in character.  I sang "Love is an Open Door" with a skeleton, then we ended with "Circle of Life" where Turk played Simba.

When I "presented" him there was a pretty good audience reaction.  I went out a little too early and got a bit of an arm workout!  Luckily, he didn't cry or anything, just looked around.

Here's the whole Disney group.  Can you tell who everyone is?  It was a fun night!

Easter and Carrie

The kids and I were only home from our trip to Wichita for one day before we packed up and drove down to Lincoln for a concert and Easter.  Saturday we met up with Robert's family at a church his sister attends for an Easter egg hunt.  It was moved inside due to rain but it was still really fun!  Nola was so funny about picking up eggs.  She would pick one up, then walk to another area and pick up another one, then go across the room again.

This egg hunt had really good candy!  I had to steal some.  Nola was pretty mad at me when she found the wrapper :)

Nola wouldn't pose with the Easter bunny, but Turk's too little to have an opinion about it!

Saturday night we went to the Carrie Underwood concert!  I'm not really into country, but Robert is.  I thought this would be a good one because she's country but kind of pop too.  It was a really good show, I was surprised by how many songs I knew!

We spent Easter Sunday with Robert's family.  We had a delicious brunch at a restaurant that happened to have a payphone in the lobby.  We had to wait a bit, so Robert called the phone and pretended to be the Easter bunny.  She totally bought it.  It was cute! After lunch we headed to Jennie's apartment where Nola was spoiled with candy, toys, and another egg hunt (seriously, let me know if you want any candy).

Then we headed back home where the Easter bunny hid a few more eggs!

Of course, we got a few pictures in our Easter outfits!

It was a fun way to end Spring Break, but I kind of feel like I need a break from my break!

Spring break in Kansas

Last week was spring break! It's been awhile since our district has given us a whole week off so I was really looking forward to it! I packed up the van and headed to Wichita with the kids right after school on Friday. I forgot Turk's Dock-a-Tot (I highly recommend it) so I had to go back home which added 45 minutes to my trip :(  The kids were pretty good on the way down, but even better on the way home. We got in late Friday and went to bed!

My sister, Sara, came in for a few days to hang out which was nice because my parents had to work. We went shopping and drove up to Kansas City to see my grandparents, Aunt and cousin.  My Grandparents hid eggs around their place and Nola got to go on an egg hunt (the first of 5- anyone want some Easter candy?).  She was so egg-cited!

We spent some time with my Grandparents then met my Aunt and cousin for dinner.  It was their first time meeting Turk and somehow I forgot to take pictures!!  I guess we were having too much fun getting caught up.  Our KC trip ended with a trip to Build-A-Bear... Thanks F.A.!!  Nola got the Wonder Woman bear.  When we asked what her name was she said, Merlotte.  Then we asked her to spell it and she said, "BDNNT".  I think she got my spelling genes.

The next day my Grandparents from the other side of my family came to Wichita to meet Turk.  We had a wonderful time catching up and I even got pictures!

Sara left the next day and my mom and I took Nola to Exploration Place.  It's sort of a science museum geared towards kids.  It's also where I got married!  It's always fun to go back there.  Nola likes it too!

Here are a few more pictures from our trip!

We did some sidewalk painting!

My dad is the original photo-bomber

We dyed Easter eggs after Boca took Nola to a trampoline park.

Nola at 2 months and Turk at 3 months.  I can't believe how much they look alike!
We ended our trip with some shopping, another Easter egg hunt, and a VERY easy drive back to Nebraska.  I'm so thankful that my kids travel well!
